Following a tyre mix up yesterday, despite wanting a Rosso Corsa, my dealer only had a Supercorsa in the right size. The bike already has a Rosso Corsa on the front, which has plenty of life, so didn't want to drop more money on a un-needed new tyre on the front. Now I know its unadvised to ride with mismatched tyres, but i'm assuming i'll be fine with tyres from the same 'family' by the same manufacturer
Softer front harder rear would be my personal choice. If your dealer ordered the wrong tyre they should reorder the correct one. Was your tyre so bad as you couldn't wait another day?
If both similar profile sure will be fine, its just when the profile is different, on track especially, its a bit dodgy imo
You have a grippier rear than front in the warm'n'dry, and a grippier front than the rear in the cold/wet. YMMV!!!
Likely the profiles will be different too then. I didn't know if the Rosso was the new SC so similar grip. Probably ok on road but if you run off the front on track....get ready for more spray can actions
The compounds are different. The Rosso Corsa front heats up quicker than the SC rear does. In fact, at normal road temps, the SCs rarely get up to proper operating temperature.
Chances are you'll be ok just be mindful and get a feel for them. Post up how it went unless you're in a full body cast!
Well, i think the answer is unsafe. Lost the front today in a big way at Farm at Silverstone (the super fast left after the start finish straight) Not sure if it was because the softer back was gripping more and pushing the front tpp far, or whether I was tying to turn too tight. Oh well, doesnt matter now. Certainly not Pirellis fault
Ah Matt, that's just rubbish :Banghead: Sorry you decided to find out through trial and error and hope the repairs aren't too costly and you're ok
