Hi Went out for my first ever ride on a ducati today in Oar what a feeling. as if i had rode one for years felt straight at home made my blade feel like a. three legged cow in a sand pit. But a problem i think the last owner was a bit of a porker while i enjoyed the rush it was like being on a pogo stick or better to let someone who knows these have a peek. i am in stafford
I found the factory settings left my bike feeling rock hard and im 15ish stone.i have my bike set lovely and soft to suite our shite roads.
oh i am 13 1/2 stone and its pitching me out of the seat and as you say rock hard no suppleness to it hey but still enjoyed it keeps the smile on your face, like the first time i went out on a gsxr1100 not as scary though
You need a lighter rear spring, but just setting the sag to within the right range will be a good start Try this to start http://www.gostar-racing.com/information/motorcycle_suspension_set-up.htm
thanks as helped quite a bit but as you say i might need a softer rear spring cos it still wants to pop me out of the seat even if i start putting in rear rebound tried in and out it helps but not enough
Took a while but found it...have a look here, you can input your weight etc and it will tell you what spring is needed http://racetech.com/ProductSearch/2/Ducati/1098/2007-08 Eg 80kg rider will need a 7.8 (8) kg spring, std is 8.7
get the suspension sorted and come back on and then do a comparison ....before and after. hows that sound?
Thank you Bradders. been out today for 150 mile jolly enjoyed it immensely but know i know why all ducati riders wear a rucksack. its to put all the bits in that fall of, lol
