1100 evo updated

Discussion in 'Monster' started by TLMARK, Jun 1, 2013.

  1. I've had my 1100 Evo for just about 2 years and 13000 miles now, and it'd been far from a smooth time.
leaky seat, warped disc's x2, and 5 punctures last year alone. Now she is not a garage queen (I have 1098s for that). She has to get me to work every day in all weathers and I had fallen out of love with it.
I was kinda in the mood to dump it for something else. But a look through every bike manufacturers bikes was less than encouraging as "dull and boring" seems to the styling ethos for 2013.
This left me with the only option of making the monster a little more interesting and nicer to ride.
first up was to sort the crappy throttle response under 3K. This I did by dumping the 02 sensors for some resistors
and this has been the biggest change as it is now a pleasure to ride in traffic.

Front brake discs were dumped for some EBC's that are hopefully better than the brembro squashed coke cans.
a DP fender eliminator and new viper LED indicators. also a nice Leo Vince carbon factory R slip on silencer. It still has the baffle and full size number plate because as I said I use it for work and don't need the grief of getting pulled for a load pipe n small plate

I'm still thinking of some speedymoto clipons for a Cafe racer look.

  5. Very nice.

I'm not entirely sure I want to know the answer.........but what's a leaky seat?

  6. I do wonder what these would be like with proper clip ons...

  7. LOL

when it got wet the seat would store the water and then leak it out through the stitching!

    all sorted under warranty :upyeah:

  8. I took her for a 100mile blast today and I'm very happy with the results once bedded in the brakes were great, and the pipe gives a nice slightly harsher note at town speeds and a great booming roar when flat out.

  10. Howdy Mark, long time..........

Im pretty much with you on mods. Leo Vince (Ti - not carbon for me), PR3's (excellent) and sadly, I think my front discs may be slightly warped (a few weeks out of warranty naturally )

So how much were your new discs?
