Just a nice video of a session I had yesterday trying to stay with a 1100. Him: on a standard 1100 with Pirelli Super Pro's and is a flat track racer. Me: Stock 821 SP running the standard Supercorsa SP's. First time at the track with the 821. TC was set at 2 and I turned ABS off this session(thats why it's blinking the whole time)
Yeah - I was watching this yesterday - the 1100 has loads of grunt....nice....especially nice as ive got one....did you find out what spec it was?? just wondered.
If it was standard it was going well I thought an 821 would have reeled him in quite easily...are you in the U.s.? just wondered...
Yep in the U.S. This track is in Kansas. Actually, I know it's hard to tell in The straights since I'm kinda tucked and the camera angle does not show it much, I was reeling him in. I noticed the 821 has more top end, but the 1100 has way more bottom end. He could just pull easy out of the turns. Plus he had race tires and could get on the throttle way sooner.
Ah - that explains it then, and confirms what the general chatter is amongst the 2....as much as Id love an 821 - moreso and sp I cant justify 12k (English money) for one...plus I love the low end grunt of mine, even more now as im gradually getting it how I want....its just come off the dyno last month which has made it incredible to drive...
Yes i could see how the 1100 with the extra low down grunt always pulled away after the bends, then the bhp of 821 dragged him back again .
yup - for me the hyper is the work hack for me....at the moment since ive done the clutch mod and the dyno work its more fun than the RSV4 to drive. I don't think ill ever do a track day on it (not while ive got an RSV anyway)...making low speed noise in the traffic is nice.
@JIMMYRAY31B, were you in race mode? BTW, does the B at the end of your forum name stand for Bob? Always wanted to meet a JimmyRayBob
Yes, I was in Race Mode, but turned ABS completely off. Nope B doesn't stand for Bob. The 31B was our job indicator for a Military Policeman in the U.S. Army.
