Has anyone out there brought an exhaust servo valve bypass plate from Slovakia? if so has it cured the engine managment light coming on, i have had my bike checked out by Duke man and the servo is causing the problem on my 1198 i know changing the complete system for termi,s will cure this but i dont seem to have £1700 spare cash at the moment
Save the £24 to buy one of these and send me your ECU. I will then disable the exup in the ECU and return it to you. This will then allow you to completely remove the exup motor and cables. The sprung valve on the exhaust will be held in the fully wide open position once the cables are removed. I have done this for garyjaffa on the forum after the gizmo in your post failed to cure the problem http://ducatiforum.co.uk/f41/098-orange-engine-warning-light-4670/ PM me if interested
Thanks Chrisw, the guy where the bike whent tried to dissable the servo from the system on his gizmo, but it did not run well below 3k revs, he did say he has done this on 848 and 1098 and that worked great. I have seen these plates are great for a full system but i have not heard of any one that has tried these on a stock 1198?
Disabling the valve in the ecu shouldn't do anything to the running of the bike....it's only there and active to pass noise emissions testing. Let Chris do it properly for you, would be my advice, rather than bolt bits of aluminium that come loose, to the pile of junk that's already there. You are sure that it's the servo causing the error and cel light and not one of the lambada? Have you had an error code up?
Yes when they hooked the bike up it was showing that the servo sometimes did not return to 90 which caused a drop in mili-volts which through the light on so they tell me? i havent got a clue, it did not put any error codes up on the dash.
