I had a new radiator fitted to my 1198 on warranty, (just made it), in March this year and now it looks like it is leaking again. At £612 for a replacement I would like ducati to admit there is a problem. They already said on my last one that there is a top bracket that causes leaks sometimes but they are saying now that they have never had anyone with a repeat problem! Please, if anyone has an ongoing problem or knows of someone with this, get in touch. thanks.
I had mine replaced a few years ago on my old 1098 when it was three and a half years old with 11k on the clock. Even though the bike was well out of warranty Ducati honoured a replacement as it was a known fault. The problem was when the radiators were fitted to the bikes the mountings were over torqued causing a hairline fracture on the joint which over time with vibration turns into a leak. It may be possible when the replacement rad was fitted the dealer may have unwittingly over torqued it again. I would push the dealer to replace it again FOC as it's not what you would expect and it's not your fault regardless of what caused it.
I am a golden oldie and struggle with "technology" but thanks for that. I delivered the radiator to my "local" dealer in Glasgow yesterday, I'm in Aberdeen, so I await the outcome, Cheers.
