1198 rear stand

Discussion in '848 / 1098 / 1198' started by Loverobot, Nov 17, 2012.

  1. Just realised my 748 stand won fit my new (to me) 1198s !
Any recommendations? Anyone use abba stands and how do they compare?

  2. If your doing work....the ABBA stand is great, for day to day cleaning use etc. forget it......stick with a paddock stand.

  3. I'm going to be on the lookout for one of these too. Looks very good value compared to the ones for sale here.

How is it to use? Is it stable enough? I bought a cheapo front stand a few years ago and should've spent more as it's not the best.

  4. It's well made and does not lean. The spindle is perfectly sized to the rear axle.

  5. I have mine on a Abba stand whilst not in use as this leaves the wheel spigot free for my pinch pin and chain to pass through as I find this the best deterent against theft, but this looks a good deal Chris and if you're are confident of the quality then may just consider getting one at this price :upyeah:

  6. Does anyone know the spindle size for the stand? (For an 848)

  7. That's brilliant have ordered one and will see what like!

  9. its the same as a 748 998 use one of them.....

  10. Thanks guys. That seems to be correct.

    :)

  11. only seems....

  12. I use an abba stand and then a Harris stand for the front, both are very good, no issues. With the abba you can't put the bike into gear when it's on the stand, but the rear wheel is nice a free.

  13. I've just brought a spider stand from buster accessories, should turn up tomorrow.. Gets both wheels off the floor & you can wheel bike around... Can't wait to use it!!

  14. Looks pretty similar to one called a 'Bursig'. If you Google 'Bursig Stand Instructions' there are some Youtube videos and a PDF manual. Hope this helps.

  17. I assembled it @ last, thanks for the links etc....

Must say money well spent, a very useful bike stand... I can see it would making cleaning & maintaining your bike so much easier.... Also saves space as you can move bike in the upright position. Rather then leaning over on the side stand.....
