1198 screen bolts

  1. Can someone with a standard 1198 screen take some shots of the std bolts and rubber nuts holding the screen in place. I am fitting a powerbronze double bubble and the old rubber captive nuts where glued to the zero gravity screen that came with the bike (not the standard screen) so I need some more but the bolts on my bike are m4x0.5 pitch which is finer than standard so i am having difficulty getting the rubber nuts as the normal pitch is 0.7. Cheers.

  2. The stock fasteners are the fine pitch. You can get spares from your dealer or pro bolt do them.

  3. If you buy them from the dealer here are the part numbers (sorry I could only find € prices)

    Wellnut - 75010281A @ €1.22 each
    Washer - 85210241A @ €0.13 each
    Special Screw - 77510071AB @ €2.38

Ouch - nearly €30 for the set of 8

I ended up buying these off eBay 10 BOLT MOTORCYCLE SCREEN/FAIRING FIXING KIT - BLACK | eBay for £3.76. They are a larger width but do not require any drilling to fit.

  4. Thanks for the info guys.

  5. If you're sticking with the stock screws, the wellnuts are about 60p each from probolt

  6. Do you still need pictures? My 1198 is standard, I'l be happy to email you some if you wish?

  7. Ordered some M4 x 0.5mm pitch well nuts from probolt so thanks for advice guys, will post some pics soon.
