Took the bike out for a proper play today for the first time The bike has a quick action throttle and tbh its far too quick for me! Its literally on a hair trigger In the box there are four different disc inserts that alter the speed of the throttle but I a not sure which is the laziest - the one with the holes close together or the one which has the holes widely spaced? It is the robby moto version as in this picture -
I thought the QAT made a huge improvement to the overall ride/responsiveness of the bike. The standard throttle is not fit for purpose imho requiring more rotation from close-open than the wrist easily provides.
Fair enough but I think that at the moment I am on the next to fastest wheel which means it is very fast action Want to go to the laziest quick action cam but not sure which it is and dont want to accidentally go quicker lol
Presumably it pulls and gives back cable so the disc with the largest radius to the surface that the cables run over will give the fastest response ?
1/6th is pretty quick I'd say. IIRC.. Stock is 1/4, a popular mod is a change to an R1 tube giving a 1/5th turn. Some report changing to an R6 tube which also gives a 1/6th... I tried this and couldn't get enough play from the cable.
Well - put on the 'black' cam which is 1/4 turn and its much more controllable! Thing is there is v little resistance so it spins up very quickly Recommend the Robby Moto Throttle - very easy to change the cam and very impressed with how smooth the action is One question arises from the fact there are six holes - does it have to be that they are equal in terms of the the cables or can I put the pull in the 4th hole and the return in the 2nd so I have less play to take up?
