Hello and welcome! Can't help with any advice as I've never ridden one, but I'm sure the usual rules apply! Service history etc, and buy the best you can afford . Chris
Hello and welcome  Have a little scan through some of the Superbike threads to get some information. Condition, mileage and a full service history are always good indicators. Know your models, i.e research which colour variants were available, not just the colour of the fairing, but the frame and wheels as well. Most if not all that is available on the Ducati website. Good luck with the hunt/purchase and I look forward to seeing the one you get
Go look at a few, dont buy the first you see (you probably will though) if it doesnt feel right then walk away or go to Moto Rapido and by a 1098R  DUCATI 1098 R for sale in for sale in Winchester, Hampshire R&ENGINECC=1198#eq1
Hi Cliff, I own a 1198 first time on the bike I crapped myself!! now just enjoy the shear power, I was lucky to get a couple of laps last week at BSB snetterton on the Saturday, fantastic bike, not great around town though may need to change the front sprocket to a 14 T may be a bit more manageable. The biggest grin I have ever had:biggrin: hope you find what you are looking for. Bomaris
