Keep thinking about it myself. What differences did you notice? How much did it cost if you don't mind me asking?
here is the cost: 75 large for the chain+75 large for the sprocket+50 large for fitting... it was pouring down today so i could not test it proper.will do over the next few days. but the empty power hole 4-6k rpm range have disappeared. apparently this upgrade does affect top end speed which is a bit of a bummer as i am planning to take this bike on the track later on this year, but for every day use (which is what this bike was purchased for) this upgrade is a must.
Which track are you planning on running where you'll see the top end of 6th with stock gearing? I would say that - on balance - the sprocket upgrade is generally a good upgrade from a track perspective as well. At least, it was on my short list to do based on the tracks I can regularly access. Ian
hmmm... never been on the track before, this will be my first time. i thought you can open it up 100% on most of the tracks?
would say a good starting point on 1000cc bikes is 1down front 1up rear ,that will do most uk tracks 1st to 5th , as per raceways
Surely you're taking the piss? Nevertheless, I'll answer in good faith... 100% throttle for sure. That doesn't mean you're going to hit 180+mph though. Even with big bike acceleration you need a pretty long straight to get up to that kind of speed. More importantly you need a pretty long straight to get back down from that speed so you go around the corner at the end of the straight rather than parking it in the barrier.
