Evening all Having an issue with fitting the 1199 clutch drum in an 899, the gear it meshes with is about 1mm out of wack and trying to move it only moves the larger gear behind it Is there a nack to getting the two lined up? it looks like the gear may be on a spring (to stop chatter?) Any input would be appreciated Cheers
Seeing as someone has asked in PM, the gear is spring loaded to i assume help with rattle There is a pin hole on the gear itself you use to line up the gears so the basket slots back into place, you will need something strong as the springs are pretty tight.
Not mine but a good idea, I’ll be doing this next week with an 1299 slipper and mag cases onto my 899 build up.
Looks like a ducati tool lining it all up nice and simple on that picture, would have definitely been easier to remove the whole engine side but also a shed load of work. With a bit of jiggery you can do it with just the clutch cover off. Its a worth while upgrade on the 899 because you can get the clutch and packs so cheaply! <£200 all in
You soon will know because I'll be attempting a 1299 clutch cover next week DStyleNZL from the ducatiforum.com thought the "water pump pin seems to be longer (or the housing is slightly different) so the cover wouldn't bolt up right". So I'm a bit nervous about it all but worth a try, I know the bolts are longer for the 1299 but see how we go.
