1199 Cooling Fan Issues

  1. My 1199 has always had the fan removed in favour of a carbon oil sump which I have now removed to put the fan back on.

    However it doesn’t come on when the engine gets hot. I’ve seen it hot about 112-115 in traffic and no fan in sight.

    I’ve tested the fan with direct power feed and it works just fine.

    I can see from the wiring diagram that the fan circuit goes in the the BBS unit but outside of that can’t see if there are any thermostats, fuses, or relays etc so looking for problem solving pointers if anyone can help?

  4. Has your ECU been told that the fan is not there because of a CanBus error?

  5. No error has ever come up on the bike to state fan issue?

  7. Sounds like the ecu has had it deleted by software

  11. Can’t see which one is even for the fan, the manual doesn’t suggest any are fan fuses ..

  12. Yes I can delete my fan and change it's parameters when it comes in and when it goes off

  15. Ahh how are you doing that? Are you local to warrington to be able to put mine back in :)

    I have downloaded melcodiag and have the leads but nothing to add the fan

  16. Downloaded one and have a wiring diagram. Nothing is mentioned about fuse for the fan in there

  20. No not checked that, I’m pretty new to these, under the seat I have a rubber BBS I don’t seem to recall any relays?
