Hi i have a 1199 pani s 13 plate ....riding all of a sudden felt its gone on one cylinder,..no faults on dash ...empty tank fresh fuel vplus ..rode for an hour going great done it again ...fuck!! so next just put new plugs in ...now still the same ...checked all wiring connectors all ok dont power wash bike so not worried about water ....so coil packs ?? or map sensors ?? what the best way to check these and cheapest way to do this ....bike must be ready for when we are all allowed out ...please help thanks
Not very experienced at this but due to the lack of feedback so far my comment is it could be ignition or injectors - feeling would be similar Have you checked you are getting the spark on each plug? When you take the plugs out is their fuel /fuel smell in one of the cylinders?
thanks guys for your input ...i have a spare coil pack coming so will try that ...yes there is a smell of fuel if it doesnt start ....the bike will start first time and tick over lovely but soon as temp is correct and i rev it its very fluffy if thats the right word .....thanks again guys
My initial thoughts were exhaust valve as it did weird things on my 12 plate 1199 before I had the termis and a remap.... I did a quick search on here and @Advikaz opened a thread for it here too.... Seems to be quite common, could this be it? Unless of course it defo is not firing on both cylinders? From what I can remember mine would bog down and sound really muted... Happened a lot at low revs... https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/exhaust-valve-help.54161/
i have temis slip on with remap ...im not sure if the flapper valve has been removed ,,,cant believe i havent checked this ....ok today i shall have a look ...got a coil on order to swap round and check ...thanks again guys ...im determined to stick with this bike ...i realy dont want to change but ive never had problems like this in 25 years of owning superbikes ...two mv never let me down
Just swap you coil pack over, at least it will rule that problem out, 2013 it will more than likely be on original plugs, maybe swap them out if the coil packs are fine.
first thing i done was change both plugs... pain in arse to do the front one ...but gutted when i put it all back together then got the same result just checked flapper valve best i could ..servo removed due to slip ons but spring and cable holder still in situ
ok...update just had both map sensors out cleaned but cant check output ..lack of tools for this ...tank off so took injectors off cleaned and all wiring checked ...bike starts first time and ticks over fine.. open throttle its fluffy ..firing on both cylinders ...just have to wait for spare coil pack now
mines been disconnected and servo removed due to termigs and up map ..not sure if they would have left the flapper in situ though ??
My cables where disconnected and servo removed they don’t tend to remove the flap , if they did there would be holes welded up where the flapper use to be , mine had been left in and some how closed a little and I was having the same problems you are .
Without the cables attached the flap will be open, maybe it’s the lambda sensor as I had similar issues on my 1299 but it threw up a engine light.
That wasn’t the case with my bike ,mine had some how closed slightly (maybe a weekend spring) and sized
They do sometimes leave the flaps in, but lockwire them open! lockwire can break though. And Ducati’s rattle their tits off
