Not sure but the multi upmap key is dumped on the bike & original map back onto chip for changing back if needed. Not heard of anyone who has successfully copied the key for any of the Duke's. Unless 1199 is different. ???
Think all maps are on ECU. Upmap key just switches them over (and back again if needed). So the key stores the toggle status, not an actual map I think. Experts please chip in!
Not questioning your take on it. The dealer. Ducati Leeds fitted my termi system. They gave me a box full of old but still new (600 miles) exhaust system & upmap key. They told me not to loose the key as it has the standard map on it, in case I need to remove the termi.
Agreed. Seems a bit of confusion out there. My understanding is they are right in as much as you need to keep hold of it. To switch the map back from Termi to standard, the ECU needs to read the toggle status from the key to know to swap the map back. It then flips the toggle to record what’s been done. That’s my understanding but if that’s what a dealer has advised, fair play. Go with it.
If that's the case & you could be right. Can't anyone get into the ecu's & sus it out. Of course without waking up with a horses head in your bed.
