  3. Got to be. Black forks, magnesium wheels, Akro exhaust and "special" Paint job.....

  4. Yes, it definitely is, it was posted earlier by Desmo Owners Club, they'd re posted it from elsewhere!

  5. I got the invite today.

Looking at the info and spec released to date, i'm struggling....

I get the piece around the technology, saving weight, bigger power, easy revving etc; but I would hope to see a few more trick bits like different brake mono blocs, levers, foot pegs etc... The info I have and the pic above looks like these bits are the same as the S and R.

Guess a few more days and the final spec sheet will come out.

  6. For the money it should look like MRs BSB bike, top spec forks, brakes, electronics etc etc... I'm keen to see the spec and how it goes on track with the racing. So carbon bodywork, Alloy tanks, carbon mono rear sub frame, mag wheels, paint job, remote span adjuster etc I'm not sure it cuts it, but then IF they say what 165KG with 220RWBHP I'd be up for a go...

  8. apropo nothing, but isnt it weird how Lamborghini brought out a superleggera and theyre owned by Audi, and now Audi are owned Ducati, and Ducati have brought out a superleggera??
    Just sayin'...

I get most of my Italian vocabulary from reading the stickers and badges on posh cars and bikes.

  9. is it also in the desmosedici orange rather than the proper ducati red.............fook sake, i think thats just someones copy, Ducati wouldnt be that shallow ....would they? Perhaps its their version of a CRT type bike, or whatever the rules are called next year in GP

  10. Heavy paddock stand , that's where the monies gone. Orange bike, battleship grey paddock built from nuclear reactor grade containment shielding and no mirrors so you cant see there's no one behind you.
Ducati have come a long way in two years.

  11. The race bikes are painted orange so that they show as red on a modern TV screen.

  12. Hope it looks better than the pic up close, thought they would have come up with another colour scheme thou.
60K it wants to look the dogs, but it does not do it for me so far.

  13. you mean the moto gp bike was painted orange so it looked red on the modern tv.........but the superbikes were not!.................infostrada or fila or xerox through the 2007 to 2010 and then the 1198 with sponsors, the red was red......

So back to my other point what is this being made to compete in?

  14. I think TV broadcasters know more on colour correction than Ducati ;) More like some fancy visual phycologist suggested that particular RED is more likely to stimulate the "buy more Ducati" section of the brain....Ha Ha, plus HiDef cameras now seem quiet capable of capturing full colour depth etc etc...maybe they painted them brighter red for those old black and white round cathode ray tubes you lot are used to....lololol

  15. I'm struggling with this, I just don't see how it's worth the cost of two R's. I think closer to £40k is more realistic. I have the benefit of living overseas and working for an airline so if I went for it I could export it, save paying Boy George £10,800 and ship it for next to nothing. But £54k, really ?

Let's see what we can find out tomorrow when they unlock the specs. It had better be worth the money otherwise they'll start pissing off the customers who have supported them through good times and bad.

  16. THE MOST EXPENSIVE RACE REPLICA THAT HAS, ER, NEVER REALLY WON ANYTHING.

Maybe they developed this as a homage to the bikes success, except, unexpectedly, the bike never had any !

  17. I think the colour looks shite because the photograph was taken with a 1997 Nokia camera phone.

  18. All it looks to me is a panigale painted so it looks like a desmo, then they've thrown some parts at it and they'll sell it some 'lucky' punters.

its hardly worth all the hype, it's not even a new bike.

Its nice enough. But c'mon, it's hardly knock out is it?
