Hi guys, I'm planning on purchasing a 796 but would really like to have the lower (and 2 into 1) style exhaust fitted to the 1100 EVO and to many other models since. As far as I can tell from searching the easiest way is to find an 1100 EVO system that bolts straight on? (apologies for linking another forum - hope this is OK): https://www.ducatimonster.org/threads/796-twin-exhaust-to-1100-evo-single.347498/ Has anyone done this and is there another way? I suspect finding an EVO exhaust (headers at least) is not easy...
I thought about doing this with my 796, as much as I figured, you’d need the 1100 Evo header pipes. Then up to you which mufflers will fit really depends on what kind of hangar you choose to put together, there was an image floating around years ago of a yoshimura s1000rr can on a 796 or 1100. You will also need to switch out the rearset for the one off the 1100 evo or S4R if you want to go Ducati parts, otherwise an aftermarket rearset. Hope that helps, up to you if you choose to keep the o2 sensors, you may also need to get the bike tuned as the exhaust length will be less overall and will breath more I believe, which will throw out the combustion efficiency of stock. The factory tune is pretty crap anyway for the U.K. climate.
Thanks very much for that - I've searched a lot on this across so many forums and absolute consensus seems to be the best idea (a necessity) following a new can is to opt for an ECU remap and exhaust flap and sensor delete too. Most of the topics are quite old of course as the 796 is going back a bit but I also found the short discussion below which suggests the 797 and most Scrambler models share compatible headers too? Struggling to find anything definitive on this but if it was so then that would obviously open up the chance of finding headers much easier... https://www.ducatimonster.org/threads/exhaust-from-scrambler-on-797.345346/
