Hi All. Trying to figure out a solution to the apparently frequent problem of alternator cover corrosion that is affecting my 18 plate 1260S. I have removed the offending sponge from behind the plastic cover, but I'm now faced with what to do with the now-flaked off paint. Warranty not being an option, does anyone know what paint could be used to make good the casing?
Try contacting your local Ducati dealer, they might look favourably on a replacement part given the history of these problems (check on here for lots of examples)
I'm in the same place as you. Mine only needs a very minor touch up. Does anyone know the paint cover colour or code?
