Hi I'm looking to fit a top box to my 2018 1260s Multistrada. Will a 1260 Eduro bracket and plate fit? Or has anyone got one for sale
I would recommend only using the OEM rack with the rails, buying the case new I believe comes with all parts except the coloured panels (available separately) and the key/lock set (the required spares for panniers and top case should have come with the bike). Obviously check that this is the case with whoever supplies the top box. Don't think that fits the Enduro according to the compatibility list on this page so wouldn't expect the reverse to be true. If you're buying used then you may have to cobble together a kit that works. A mate of mine owned an Enduro and had an issue with the top box plate supplied by his dealer splitting the grab handle after a period of time. This plate relied entirely on the grab handle for support. I have the top box on my 1260s with the, at the time, recommended OEM top case rack as in first para above. It's imperative, to avoid undue stress on the grab handle, that you use one with the support rails that bolt to the underside of alloy sub-frame. I've done some 22000 miles, at least half of that abroad and loaded to the max recommended weight, probably beyond at times if the truth be told, plus girlfriend, when she joins me, using the backrest built into the top box and haven't had any issues. If you can find an after-market kit ensure that it uses support rails and the same mounting points. See the installation instructions on the link above.
Thanks Bumpkin. I managed to order all the parts (13items)from my local Ducati dealer (approx. 2 weeks delivery). The only part not stock, from Italy (Italy still on shut down) is part 8291E222A (fixing plate), which is not available till early March. Hopefully a standard plate will fit, but not sure.
Additionally, I have 2 spare panniers with the grey panel (from a 1260 GT). The mounts are broken as they were ripped off my last bike when they stole it. In good condition still, but will need a new lock and mounting plastics. Not sure of their worth, but if anyone is interested. Pm me
Hi Ducbird. I'm still trying to navigate the site. How do i post on the Multistrada site. I've just managed to obtain all the parts from Ducati to fit a top box. Does anyone know if a standard Givi box will fit, or if not does anyone have one for sale?
