On my ride out today, my bike cut out twice. As I'm coming to a stop, it just cut out, for seemingly no reason. As the bike was slowing the engine just stalled and the red oil light came on. Anyway, it wouldn't start straight away, so pulled over, turned it off, left it a few mins and it then started up and rode normal. It was hot today, but not overly hot, but wondered if that had anything to do with it. It happened once last year, but didn't think anything of it at the time. Has someone had this happen, any idea? Or it just one of those anomaly's of having a Ducati?
Do you have throttle mods? Mine used to do this on closed throttle as I came to a stop. Adding the throttle mods cured it. In the meantime as you pull to a stop blip the throttle a tad.
These..they essentially take up slack on teh throttle and give better throttle response at low twists. 5min job to fit
Because there's so much slack on closed throttle, i used to find gentle blips tricky as i pulled to a stop or a small twist to keep it spinning. The mod gave me better throttle control. It made it easier and the stalls were less frequent. The issue is still there and is a fuelling issue as I understand it. Someone will correct me. I'm also using a rapidbikepro on my 1299. This cured it completely. It may also be due to exhaust valve. I done have one on mine as full akra.
Hi I hope I can find an answer from some of you knowledgeable folks on here. All the 4 ducatis I have owened in the past (749 998 1098 998) I suffered this issue of the engine cutting out when coming to a stop at different speeds fast or slow stop. The engine cuts out. Whether I've ridden for miles or just at the end of the road from my house. Hot and cold weather temperatures.
