Currently running my new 1299S and when stuck in traffic and the engine temp goes above 80C there's a noticeable lack of response when trying to move off and a delay in twisting the throttle to the revs increasing, to the point 100C plus the delay is astronomical, once moving and the engine temp returns to normal normal service resumes. Obviously it's under warranty and the first service is looming so will get the dealer to check, but has anyone had a similar issue and what was diagnosed so I can let the dealer know ahead of the service.
Totally normal, mine idled in the 80-90 degree mark today and will go over 100 if sat, if the bikes running strangely it's not because of the heat as those are normal ranges. For run in it may be worth trying to avoid letting it idle though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Temp isn't the issue, it's the throttle response at those temps. It will stall quite easily as you twist the throttle and release the clutch but the revs take a second plus to increase.
There is something strange with the throttle response on my bike as well. I am finding it really hard to dial in the required amount of throttle in order to pull away from a stand. It either doesn't pick up and I stall it (the knife-edge bite point on the clutch doesn't help) or I get way too much and you can guess the rest. Mine has 1k miles now. I am using Sport mode with the medium engine setting. I am going to try max engine on my next ride and see if there is any improvement.
Change the engine setting to high in sport mode.instant throttle response and predictable. I made a video on how to do it if you follow yt lnk in sig.
Nearly 3000 miles on my 1299 and its okay now. Used to be quite hard to pull away but now perfect. A lot has improved with miles. Quick shifter smoother, brakes better, suspension better over crap roads etc. The other day it was crazy windy and the bike was solid as a rock, while I was practically being blown off the bike; most stable bike I've ever had.
My quick shift has gone sloppy going into 4th and 6th Bikes due a service so chain will need adjusting which won't help Tried bike in race mode and throttle much better and prefer reduced abs and TC
