Does anyone know about this? As far as I’m aware the map is already installed but the up map key just unlocks it. Does anyone know I a 1299 key works in the 959 and can the key only be used once?
The map is on the up map device. It uploads the new map and downloads the old map. The up map device is then locked to the bike. The process can be reversed and the up map device used on a different bike. Things have progressed recently and Termignoni have made the process DIY using Bluetooth and Android/IOS mobile phones. The upmap, other than 1199, need to be loaded using the dealer diag kit. It'd have to be the right key for the bike. As Chris mentions, the key is then coded to the bike and can't be used until the process is reversed. Don't when, but following on from the DTC/DWC evo software update thru Ducati Performance, there was talk of offering UPMAP as well. Not heard anything lately, so couldn't tell if or when this'd happen. Iirc, rexxer have a 1299 map, and I think also 959 now, which would be an alternative. I can check tomorrow. Cheaper than the Termi at £230.
what does the akrapovic up map do? is it a performance upgrade or just to delete the flapper valve etc? does it alter fueling as well? Is it required for an akrapovic slip on if i already have the flapper valve deleted?
can the rexxer map be done DIY or by a dealer? I dont think there is a rexxer dealer in the north east?
how do you find it? i like the idea of this as its 100% reversable but the amount of cables and plugs leaves a lot of potential for failure. saying that ive always had power commanders and ignition modules and they never caused an issue
As far as I was aware the maps are already on the ECU and whilst the key just unlocks access, it is specific to the model and locks the UPMap key so you can't use it again on another bike until you remove access and unlock it again. I wasn't aware of it locking to that particular bike and perhaps you could unlock from another bike but not sure about that so could be talking a load of rubbish? When the dealer plugs in the diagnostic kit it just does any new updates to those existing maps.
I ordered a RapidBike EVO and k&n filter in the end Read a lot of good things about it and is 100% reversabke max can be used in other bikes etc so seems a good product
