Has anyone fitted the coloured screen from the 1199/1299 to the 899/959? I’ve read a few threads on the forums and seen that you get an unknown device error and the engine light on. I think it’s still a decent upgrade though... Anyone done it?
The 899/959 uses a main ECU made by Mitsubishi, I don’t know what the 1299 one is, I think Magnetti Marelli, so it’s not a straight swap, even though the dashes class as their own ECU also
A quick google reveals some people that have done it mate and it works but you get an error code which you can’t clear, possibly when you use a 1299s dash as it’s expecting electronic suspension
Fitted. Got the unknown device and an engine error code which I can live with. Speedo, gear indicator and all other stuff seem to work ok but won’t know for sure until after a ride out.
Just to finish this off, the 1299S dash was too complicated to make work on the 959. I’ll start a new thread to let anyone else dumb enough to do this, how I tackled it.
Hi, I tryed this modify few moths ago on my 959. Before, i tryed a 1199 dash, but the the gear not work. After i tryed a 1299 dash, but the odo not work completly and there are a allarm of ABS. So, i come back to original dash.
yes, it’s all or nothing. You need the job lot to get it to work right. Dash, BBS, main wiring harness, ABS pump, ecu and the imu, auto blipper/shifter
