Still trying to decide whether to get a 1299 or a 959. The 959 would be more than enough for me but I won't buy one with the shotgun exhaust. It's a pain trying to source an exhaust and panels for the 959 and as far as I am aware the 1199 or 1299 complete system will fit. Does anyone know where the best place would be to source the panels at the best price? I have been looking at e-bay for an exhaust and there is an 1199R standard one on there at the mo for £300. There don't seem to be many 1299's for sale. There is a 15 plate 1299S on Autotrader (private sale) but I think it must be sold because I can't get an answer on the phone or e-mail. I suppose it will be a case of what come up first for what bike I get, the parts to do the 959 exhaust conversion at a realistic price, or whether a 1299S come up first.
had the 899 and it was as perfect bike on the road as you would like.the only trouble is having the lower cc you are always thinking if only. ive gone for the 1299 base with akras and to be honest the feed back when riding it is worth the cost.
I had an 899 then ended up going 1299 but seriously considered the 959. Made a vid and wrote a big review and mentioned reasons why went 1299 here. In a nutshell it was the autoblipper that hooked me on the 1299. Ducati 1299 Panigale: The First 1000 Miles
The Ducati Performance catalogue states different part numbers for the 1199 and the 1299/959. I think they are a different bore size.
The 1299 has larger dia pipes,but the full 1199/1299/899 system will fit the 959,it must be the full system,1199/899 end cans only will not fit the 1299 and visa versa.
i got the 1299 as it was a better package over 959 once you add the extra to replace the 959 exhaust and lower fairing it was a no brainier really,one thing I did like on the 959 though was the paint finish of the white.
