Will a 180 60 17 corsa fit a 748? I’m thinking that the 916 ran a 190 rear therefore a 180 60 17 should fit a 748?
Jay, short answer is yes it should fit but obviously check swing arm clearances, ride height etc. It should be 55 profile. Being a 748 it should run a 180, a lot of people put a 190 on but if it's a 5.5 inch rim it should run a 180. 190's should run on 6 inch rims, a la some 916's. HTH
Hi,I run a 180/60 Supercorsa on my 748,you have to watch the clearance with the exhaust (under the swingarm), but other than that its a good improvement, it feels much more stable when cranked over, recommeded.
They do. 916 & 996 (999?) were fitted with 190 tyres for 'fashion' reasons, a 180 fits the 5.5" wheel better and most owners fit them. Although I've never seen a 60 profile 180....
i run a 6 inch rear with a 195 65 17, clearance generally ok, though the belly pan can get a bit worn at the back.
Just fitted the wheel back in the bike and looks good, a bit close to the exhaust but should be ok as long as I don’t stand still for to long.lol
Yep, they run 60 profiles in BSB and the like. You can pick scrubs up on evil bay too (unless you know someone on the inside lol) Pretty sure Haynes note all of them use the 5.5" rear Greyman
I'm trying to recall where I read that some carry the 6 incher, loosely think it might of been that shazam geezer from the states. It don't matter none anyway ...
mine has the magnesium 5 spoke marchesinis. theyve always been shod with 190's. Would these be 5.5 rims too?? (i cant be bothered to crawl around in the garage to find out...sorry)..if so i'll put a 180 next time. it has a 40 mile as new tyre on the rear but its been sat on it for 4 yrs..time to get rid.
Well if anyone wants BSB scrubbed Metzeler Racetechs I can get them at £75 a pair if that helps anyone........usually only done a free practice plus a warm up..and they'll come straight off Hudson Kennaughs bike........
I always used to put a 180 on the rear of my 996 when the original 190 was past it's sell by date, when the 190 was half worn the bike's steering would slow up cause of the big fat flat bit in the middle, no such troubles with the 180, handles better for longer Ps-Mine were all 180 55 17
