This is insane A 1098r on our dyno. With pistol pistons , exhaust port mods and a full sytem makes 194 Hp We just finished a 1098 with 1198 crank giving 1150 cc , pistol pistons , exhaust port mods , full sytem and 1098r cams. So basically its a small port , small valved 2mm undersized 1098r with less injectors and smaller throttle bodies. Now I knew it was going to be good because the small intake port speed is more inline with high velocities. Another subject. I was thinking it would make 169hp. And 1198 with full sytem makes 171 on our dyno. Very very shocked when it made 190hp WTF after carefully mapping both cylinders for fuel and spark. This thing kills a stock 1098r with full system . Ridiculas. I will post up some graphs next week. All I need now is a MTS 1200 owner to bring me there engine and some 1098r cams Imagine that in a multi . We nick named this bike THE PUNISHER. The head work, engine combination and final tune was by me and the engine was blueprinted balanced and assembled by big Chris of Richard llewellyns louigimoto. Fantastic effort all involved
You reckon you could eke out 190 from a Multi with a few of those mods:-O. Jesus wept. So then you'd have to do the code for the circle of truth screen ;-). 190 Lo & 190 Hi. Have a well earned working holiday here in Australia and I'll give you mine to do ;-)
Is it that impressive though ? The JHP Buildbase bike for 2007 based on a 1098s had 186bhp, so its taken someone 6 years to find another 4bhp, or am I missing something ????
Wow I never knew they made 186 Hp but on what dyno ? This bike is built with no special race components at all . No big valves ,no race gas all off the shelf parts But then what do I know . This is the first 1098s we worked on so we had no idea what to expect.
Doodle I wonder due to the ridiculously high price of the 'R' cams you mentioned if there isn't another way round this. I wonder if it would be possible to modify some standard cams by welding on any extra material needed and then having them ground to the R profiles. This is certainly possible with the correct engineering processes, and it has got to be cheaper than the £600/cam you mentioned.
Now we know they fit there will be indeed a cheaper way. But we will need to do a few sets at once. And get a spare original set to copy
Chris...I want this for my Mutley...I may get a whole new engine. Would it work on the 2013 engine with twin spark plugs? Q. Approx how much for the build works? Would we need to beef anything up? Still love the 150Hp that you got from mine on that super hot day. cheers Paul
hmmmmmmm, Dibble...............do you want to borrow one of them dyno charts ive got a blue and red crayon ..........
