1995 Ducati 916 Moto Racing

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by NobbyClarke, Sep 11, 2015.

  1. Hey guys,

I am selling my late father's 1995 916 (images attached), who according to Ducati in Bologna when I provided them with frame/engine numbers is a 916 Moto Racing bike. I am unsure how to value this bike, anyone have any info on this bike or somewhere I can get it valued?

    Best regards,
    Stephen

  2. What is the engine capacity on the vehicle registration document ? Thanks, Andy

  3. Looks like an SP to me.

  4. Lovely clean bike, mag wheels as well, I would say really strong money that, did u have any figure in mind?

  5. Don't the mag 5 spokes have ribs in the back of the spokes?

  6. If it is the road and track wheel yes. If it is the race wheel I don't think so. Andy

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  7. I agree with Andy. I have a race Mag on my SPS and it has no ribs on it.

  8. Indeed, it's got the extra pickup sensor at the rear of the left side crankcase cover, unless the early starda models had this for the P8 ecu?

Either way, nice bike, good luck with the sale... :upyeah:

  9. Yes, that's what made me think it's got a P8 Ecu.

  10. It clearly has had some money spent on it, not sure if any of the carbon is MS and is that a 50mm full/half system ? Andy

  11. Funny how money gets spent on carbon wheels but the plastic wanky airtubes haven't been changed for carbon ones.

  12. Magnesium?

  13. Ahh yes :Bag:

  14. Sorry to hear of your loss Stephen.
    Don't you fancy keeping it?

  15. Hi guys, apologies for the delay in getting back to you all, was away this weekend. Thanks for the responses anyway.

I would love to keep the bike but I have 4 siblings and they are pushing for the sale so the proceeds can be added to the estate. It has only covered 3383 miles, hence the condition it is in.

The engine capacity on the V5 says 916cc but I have asked Ducati to confirm as I was making sure it wasn't the 955cc AMA spec bike.

On another note, the reg plate is 'M7 DUK' and wonder where the best place to sell that, as it may be worth a few quid as well?

    Appreciate your responses.

  16. Sorry for your loss.

  17. Sorry for your loss.
Have a look on the DVLA website at the DUC/DUK plates, they're really not worth a whole lot.

  18. Thanks for the condolences guys much appreciated.

I did look at a "We buy any plate" website and they offered me £600 for it so thought I'd see if there were any more reputable outlets to try. Will probs just sell it with the bike. Also, the bike was signed by Foggy so likely to add value too.

Will see what Ducati come back with regarding engine capacity/other details.

  19. I concur mate, very sorry for your loss. I would say wait and see what Ducati come back with ref the engine and then you can think of a price, it looks smart and 916 era bikes are coming up in value, maybe £5000 minimum? Some are upwards of £7000 and some as low as £3500

  20. If it's a 916SP it could be worth £7K+ at a guess.

    Sorry for your loss too.
My Dad passed away earlier this year and my sisters and I are going through the same process as you however the only vehicle we have to divvy up is a 10 plate Focus Cmax auto...
