Decided to let me labour of love go as I just don’t have the time anymore to use or look after this bike. It’s a 1996 748 SP, first registered on UK roads in 2019 About 5300 miles on the clock (I forget the exact amount) This was built by me between 2018 and 2019. I Purchased the frame in January 2018, it came from Germany with all the paperwork. Already had a modified 1997 UK 748 which I had put an SP engine in it that was purchased from another forum user. So, I used the old 748 as a donor and sourced any missing original bits from various places. Please have a look at my original forum posts here: https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/building-a-748-sp.58071/ While I did try to get it to stock, some bits I kept from the old bike as they were simply better for riding the bike with. Non-standard bits: · MRA double bubble screen · Ohlins steering damper · Steel brake discs · braided hoses · silicon coolant hoses · 40 tooth rear sprocket (and 96 link chain) · Exact start cables upgrade · Harris rear huger Original forks have just been serviced as of September 2021. I do have most of the original parts in boxes, I don’t have an original screen (easy to get), the yellow cover that came with the bikes when they were new (impossible to get now, unless you have one custom made), I had to replace a lot of the old zinc bolts of the years as they were corroding, I have used stainless steel or titanium bolts instead, again, as those are more practical for a bike that I was using a lot (at one point). Original parts included that are not on the bike: · Rear stand in correct gold colour · 50/45 half termi race system (stock pipes are on the bike). · Original iron brake discs · Original steering damper · Tool kit. · Other bits and bobs · 2 Original Ducati keys and 2 cheap ones. I also have an extra unmolested wiring loom for the right-hand side that I was going to use to replace the one that had the alarm on it as I thought it would be nice to have. Have just got a new battery for it. The inspection cover over the rear part of the exhaust is leaking oil. I have a new seal, but not had time to fit it yet. MOT has run out, but once the new starter motor is on that should not be a problem. The belts, despite not actually doing many miles are over 5 years old, so need doing. Valves and rockers all looked good when I got the engine several years ago, and I have only put about 300 miles on the engine since I got it, so they should be all good. That said, the engine does not look great cosmetically, the paint is flaking a bit, this would have been my next job if I was going to keep the bike. It has a set of Pirelli Diablo Rosso III’s on it that have probably only done 50 miles (just enough to wear them in). I have a folder full of receipts and an original manual I am sure I’m forgetting loads, but people should have questions that will bring up stuff I have missed. Looking for £7000 Please have a good look at all the photos.
All starting ok now, dodgy connector was the problem in the end. I'll look into getting an MOT for if in November (after half term), hopfully that may encourage any potental buyers. Also, it is hard to know if this is a good price as there are not many of them around.
