Ok. A few more questions with regard to my 748 s Head rebuild. Are the long studs that secure the head down streach bolts - Will they need replacing or are they good to be used again? Piston rings. I've bought a set of pistons and barrels from eBay with a supposed 10k miles on them. Barrels look ok. Would you recommend putting new rings in or not? Thanks
The head bolts are just stock and do not require replacing. If you can get new rings then I would suggest replacing them if they do not cost too much, and just to be on the safe side. If that's out of the question or not practical then I am sure that things will be fine. See other threads and make sure you get matching head and base gaskets as these have changed, if you have the thick type then Ducati no longer supply them. 748 S Head Gasket | Ducati Forum
