G'day Does anyone know which model of ECU a 1999 ST4 should have? Is it possible to identify one visually? Also, is there any diagnostic software out there that will let me check the status of the engine management sensors? I've seen plenty of reference to "ducatidiag" which seems to have been created by a French chap with the username jpl250rs but this seems to only work with IAW 59M ecus, although I'm not entirely convinced of this. I think my 1999 ST4 has an ECU which predates this, possibly the IAW 1.6M?. I believe the 2000 ST4 does have an IAW 1.6M but I haven’t found anything to clarify what ECU my 1999 ST4 has. Does anyone Know? Thanks! Ralph
All ST4 models use the IAW 1.6M ECU. The ST4s however uses the IAW5.9M. JP at one time provided a software named DucatiDiagOld which would interface with the 1.6M but it no longer seems to be available. You can use Guzzi Diag however, selecting one of the Guzzi models that uses the same ECU.
I have Ductidiagold which I originally got from a Ducatidiag site that is now defunct. It is only 2284kb and if you PM me I can probably send it to you. I have never used it but you are welcome to try it along with a couple of other programmes I downloaded but have never used.
