Just finished a decent day out. I concentrated on B roads - working the motor and cycle parts - rather than hacking along A roads or motorways. I have to say the bike is a revelation. Superb handling. The motor is begging for it - but i'm trying everything to be a good boy and keep it under 6000 (ish). I don't think i've ever ridden a uber trailie type bike that has such a front end. The brakes are stunning and the forks have so much feel. Can't wait until i can give it some. OH - and Keis heated kit is worth it's weight in gold.
Getting close to a hundred thousand on my multi.....never fails to bring a smile ....carving through traffic.....blitzing the bends. The best. safe riding Andy P
Picked up my first Ducati yesterday, a MTS1200ABS. Only covered 80 miles so far but I'm really pleased with it. I hope it continues this way. Been reading through the forum and it's made most interesting reading. Stephen Edit for spelling.
Nor me! Still haven't ridden a new style Multi and until I win the lottery or someone gives me a shed load of dosh I don't think I will! From the reports it's such a nice bike I'd end up in hock for years and really don't want to go down that route :-(
Not my first but my fourth. Had it for three weeks now but only managed 200 miles. I too will be glad to have the motor run in so that I don't have to worry about keeping within the rev limits. I've got a set of Gerbing heated gloves and after 37 years of biking they have transformed the winter experience. I had heated grips once but they didn't really make much difference but heated gloves really are sent from heaven!!
Hi all, I'm new here and new to Ducati ownership too. I've just clocked up 600 miles on my new Touring and finding it to be a revelation. My enthusiasm for biking is renewed after running and getting bored with a VFR VTEC for he last 8 years, not a bad machine but now seems pretty lame in comparison TBH. First impressions of the Multi were of how much more comfortable and grunty it is. It was probably the offer of the additional grand's worth of goodies that tipped it for me. I suspected from this that there would probably be a model upgrade of sorts in the pipeline, and it was announced a couple of days after I'd put my deposit down! Fair play indeed to Ducati Glasgow though, who phoned me up to give the option of waiting for the 2013 model. I did as much research as I could on the changes for 2013 and in the end decided that I was happy to take the 2012, after all it's hardly a motorcycling dinosaur. Though I'm sure Sachs suspension equipment is top notch, there was something attractive about having the Ohlins gold bling that is not on the 2013. Maybe something to do with reading decades of bike magazines with the hottest most tricked-up always having Ohlins. Would have quite liked the LED headlights tho.. Anyway, so far so good and looking forward to many more desmo powered miles.
I did not have too much trouble keeping to 6000 rpm, it is still motoring quite a bit, around 100mph. I think I red lined it a few times though, when I got a false neutral pulling away, the false neutrals seem to be less frequent nowadays.
Hey paul, good to see you here too. Hi, my name is Bingbong, this is my first Ducati and I'm an addict . did my first long ride today and the bikes first 400KM. Why oh why didn't I buy one of these years ago?
