Popped down to Thruxton to see my lad on his 24 hour cycle ride for charity and the engine light came on. I throttled off to pull over and the light went out so just cracked on thinking nothing of it as I had it once on the way to Italy a couple of months ago. On leaving Thruxton about 3 hours later and the bike stuttered to an instant off-on but quite violently, enough to jar my back. Not good but thought it was a one-off. Then again same problem and found it did it 5 or 6 times and only as the bike went through 7000 revs. Didn't matter if the road was straight or there were bends but scared the crap out of me in the middle of one bend. Got to Tidworth and put some fuel in and it did it once more but hasnt done it again. There was 1/4 tank left I the bike before filling up. Problem is.....it is very unnerving when overtaking and accelerating through the revs as I was expecting it to happen again. Had to quick shift to keep it under 7000 revs. Spoiled a good ride back home. In effect the bike hits 7000 revs and dies instantly then literally a second later accelerates again, anyone else had this? Will call the dealer tomorrow.
Put the bike on the magic diagnostic machine and the rectifier is at fault. All changed n will test over the next few days
