A year ago, my wife and I took our Ducati 999 on a 6000 mile back road trip from Texas to WA state. We spent a lot of time in AZ and N Mexico. Beautiful riding. We had tank bag and panniers, helmets, jackets, tool kit. We found that on much of the trip we could have used more horsepower. Now for my question. I'm thinking about a 2013 Ducati 1199 Panigale. Would it be a good step up for high speed road touring for 2 people? Has anybody done a long trip, with 2 people, on a Panigale? What's your opinion? Would love to hear from you.
The pegs and pillion seat are just for show. 6000 miles with a pillion and panniers on a 999? How many rear sub-frames did you get through?
I know I went thur 2 sets of tires, 3 oil changes and one busted muffler due to bad roads. I will check the sub frame for problems. Thanks
