  1. hi still have the old girl, now thinking to go down a different route by streetfightering her, any help? does the monster top yoke fit? or are there any other options.

  2. Just fit an ABM replacement yoke and risers to my 900ssie as wanted a more upright stance, got it from Bikermart whole kit was £327.00. Top View.jpg Side View.jpg

  3. Nice and tidy, have been looking at idea's for more comfort! Does this restrict the turning circle also does the clutch and brake reservoirs clear the fairing ok?
Would you also be able to post a side pic of the front end either on here or to my email [email protected]
    it would be appreciated
    best wishes

  4. No, monster top yoke doesn't fit. Different offset. I have streetfightered SSie with bars. I used a SS carb yoke, same as SSie but flat across top and drilled and fitted risers. I also used ST4S fork legs that are shorter by 30mm and finish flush with yoke.

  5. Interesting..... about your fork change 900 may be something to look at in the future as the fork tops do protrude somewhat.

Phil I will mail you some pics no problem.

Off outside today to sort out the brakes and clutch and the throttle.

To retain the original fairing the kit recommends trimming the fairing off by the mirror mounts but I didn't want to hack up my fairing so I changed it slightly and raised up the whole headlight frame by one hole on the mount.
I'm going to fit a Top fairing like Johnboy has on his so it wont matter about it being higher and using my original one as a test the the bars will clear the fairing without the cylinders touching. Still have a degree of fine tuning to do as its still in progress and not completely finished where I want everything.

A drawback which I learnt once I had assembled it was that I cannot hinge up the tank as the back edge slightly touches the riser bottom, so now I take out the bolts at the tank back, slide the tank back and lift it and place bolts back in until I want to lower it...... no big deal as only lift tank up rarely.

Also will need a longer speedo cable now as I moved the clocks up but that's no biggie.

If I was going to keep the full fairing I'd buy a top peice off ebay and chop that rather than cut my original.

Screwed the locks out fully and the turning circle isn't massively different, but not got to road test yet so will keep you informed.

  6. Here's my set up, Carby yoke and Pitbike bar risers cut down 20mm. I drilled the 2 steering/ign.lock mounting holes all the way through and tapped them and then drilled 2 holes behind and tapped them too. My ignition switch is at front side of tank. SSie legs won't work with this as the bars are in the way of the fork tops. Only SSie legs are that long, monster ie and ST are 30mm shorter so finish flush with yoke. This cost me about £50 to convert with s/h bits and selling ie legs for same as ST4s cost.

  7. Your conversion looks really good, have you got any pics of the full bike to see what it looks like as a reference?

Latest pics. Haven't ridden it for couple of years waiting for replacement head to be fitted where a cambelt pulley came undone. Be on road soon as weather breaks. Can't f+ckin wait:biggrin:. It brings out the hooligan in me.

  9. Thanks for putting those pics up, really helps to see what others have done.
Now I can see the monster front mudguard in place it does make it better than trying to visualise, looks much better than the ssie standard one now the fairing isn't there.

Belt covers are really nice and I see what you mean't about the forks being alot shorter. How much did you pay for the forks roughly just for interest?

Lets all hope for some sunshine......:upyeah:

  10. I think I paid 120 inc pp from a breaker on ebay buy it now. The gold nitride's a bit worn and a dust seal is cracking so were cheap. I didn't realise they were shorter till I got them and had to do the yoke conversion to use them. I had 50mm Heli Bars(clip ons) that were about 40mm higher than stock on the standard legs before that, they were quite comfy.
