Has anyone got any information on the Yellow 748 for sale in Car and Classic currently? It appears to have completed only 956 miles since 2012 following a speedo replacement. I also note it has very new looking gold 3 spoke wheels instead of the silver/grey ones that normally match the frame for the 2000 model onwards. Any thoughts would be welcome as I am in the market (preferably for a 748S) but it 'looks' nice from the images etc.
As I’m sure you are aware, the wheels are not the correct colour gold and most of the ancillaries are non standard or aftermarket. The rear sub frame is from a biposta so expect the monoposta seat to be a conversion. However, the bike looks to present well and the advert is well written. I would recommend viewing before committing and if you like it, make an offer. Andy
Thanks Android853sp, Those were my thoughts as well. I contacted the seller and he stated he had the wheels were painted a couple of years ago (but not sure why) and has new tyres with only about 100 miles on them. It gets a belt service 'every year' since he has had it and it has done just under 5900 miles. It seems it only gets to do about 100 miles a year, so am concerned if it is left a long time with old oil on the journals etc. The seller also states he has some of the original parts and stands to go with it etc. It is about 250 miles from where I am, so may plan a trip to see it. The seller wants to send me a walkaround video, so may check it out from there. Note this will be my first Ducati, so want to get it right. I have looked at many posts on key issues to check (pretty much the same for any other bike I have owned over the years), so will see how it goes.
Thanks Moorland Monster, I check this out with the seller and they stated that he does his own oil change and belt change annually - I did ask why given the 2 yr/6k norm for the bike, but he seems a little hesitant on this point and also about the panels being original...
If it’s this one the side panel graphics pre date the model year … https://www.carandclassic.com/l/C1806662
Maybe a bit "belt and braces" but could just be that the owner is pedantic and a plus point? He's not hidden his Reg Number which is always a positive for me. https://www.carandclassic.com/l/C1806662
The registration number comes up as a 2019 Harley Davidson. Could be just my MOT/Reg checker that's got it wrong of course.
Not advertised yet but sat in my garage. I’ve owned the bike for over 10 years. PM me if you are interested.
