just noticed after a run out today there is an intermittent miss while riding. happens at either higher speed or lower . checked the iridium plugs were on the loose side but clean and gaps re set but still has the odd miss. any thoughts please or known problem. also when turning ignition on, the fuel system pressurises, question here is the pump continually on even when not running? is it normal or should a pressure switch cut the pumpout ? thanks
actually closed the gaps up to 0.7 as were bigger and still happening. only 5 miles each way , happened 4 or 5 times each way. just a spit/pop maybe a jet but would have thought it would have been more if dirt or icing?
Probably not a long enough run for icing. Do you know when the carbs were last looked at? As for the fuel pump, should run all the time, if you follow the piping there should be a "Y" in the line with a return to the tank for the unused fuel to flow back to the tank, you should here it running back when you turn the ignition on. I must say my bike will pop and bang sometime if I only use it for work (3.5 mile), give it a good long run on a A road, get the fuel flowing through will help clean out the carbs.
