So been bored at work plus well was interested in prices. Started looking for 2005 and up 999s and found none, 2005 and up 999 very few. Most 999 bikes that are for sale are 2004/2003 models mostly Fila replica or 999 BIP. For that age 999s is hard to find as well. What gives, where did they all go? Also they are holding their price very, very well. Average of 5k for good example of older 999s/Fila Replica or 3.8-4.5k for good example of 999 pre 2005. It is basically same price as 7y ago give or take 200-300 GBP! 05 and up models (except black as that is random) are about 800-1000GBP more. So anyone seen any 2005 or up 999s for sale anywhere?
there are a few on autotrader,, not advertised as S but got the adj rear-sets and TIN fork sliders,, couple are Zerox fakes and some not,
Well but 999s had front and back ohlins plus adjustability. I am not even looking that much at bip or not. Zerox/Fila replicas some are fake. There is a nice looking 05 Fila replica almost believable till you see rim is black both ends.......
There were no base or 'S' Fila or Xerox replica's - only 999R's so all Fila replica's you will see are 'fake' as you put it i.e. not Ducati manufactured, unless of course they are £12K+
so what is a " replica ",, I have seen some so called which don't have braced frame, black box, termi nor adj rear set,,, so what is replicated then other than the paint job,, look a bit fake to me.
There was a 749s Fila Replica so was thinking 999s in same colours is one as well. It was official as it was coming from Ducati as one of the options to purchase. TTonup rankly all replicas are fake bikes. But what would constitute "original replica" for me is bike that came out of factory in such colours. 749s came out as Fila. So if you had a 749 in Fila paintjob it would be "fake". If you had a 749s made in to fila also would be fake as there would be a change of colour on V5. Does not matter to me that much as well. If I was to find a 999s Fila I would not care it is not original if paintjob was good. I am not picky I would not care if it was dropped and then painted as long as structural damage was fixed.
But back to subject no matter what colour where are all the 999s or even 999 bikes after face lift (2005 black swinger and up). There is almost none for sale.
It would say what it was out of factory as in 999/999s bip/mono. Main colour you can track down together with hpi check I think as HPI check will display main colour at first registration so if it said multi-coloured it was most likely race replica.
My 999 R Fila has Fila on the red code card bar code but states Red on the log book only. I guess it's down to the dealer when they register as to what ends up on the log book. Maybe they are such good bikes everyone is keeping them
( soory , still a bit off topic ) but surely if you were buying something like that you would be looking for a little more " replica " than just a paint job,,, replicate not replifake .
https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/?utf8=✓&q=ducati+999ss There aren't that many if you believe this..... Maybe everyone has vacuum packed them for posterity...:Wideyed:
Just to clarify that the figures don't tie up... I have a certificate saying I have 1 of only 50 mono neros brought into the country.. How many left say at most there were only 33 in 2006 https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/?utf8=✓&q=999+mono+nero Were the rest tucked away, written off, tracked or exported?
I've got one of them if that's any help... To answer Lukas's question, perhaps people love their late-model 999s so much that nobody is selling them? Must admit, most 999s I've seen for sale seem to be 03/04s....
