2006 999 Fairing Fitting Question

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by Aromaticduck, Mar 20, 2023.

  1. I have been rebuilding this 999 over winter. It came to me with the fairing panels removed.

I’m currently fitting the original panels but i can’t see or find any fixing points for the lower fairings at the rear. There are screw holes in the fairing on each side but no corresponding brackets or fixing points on the bike.

I suspect a missing bracket but nothing is shown in the parts diagrams.

photo shows rhs lower screw hole. Similar on lhs but no fixing point. Can anybody help? DBE897BD-5ACB-404B-B9C6-CCBB7D7090C5.jpeg

  2. I can check mine later but I'm sure someone will be along shortly

  3. There’s a small bracket on each side to attach the rear of the fairing.
They may be shown attached to engine (LHS) and rear brake bracket (RHS).
    I can take pictures later.

  6. Thanks guys.

With your help I was able to spot the brackets. They are shown on the parts diagrams as part of the crankcase assembly.

    Mystery solved.
