Anyone who saw my post in the wanted section knows the story. But for those who don’t I was trying to restore an 1198 during lockdown and had the engine stripped to be given a clean bill of health by Ducati John. the engine isn’t knackered and it isn’t perfect but I’ve decided to scrap the project now and I haven’t the patience or skill to rebuilt the engine. so before I sell the individual parts on ebay does anyone fancy an 1198 engine Lego set? the issues with the engine were: Slight scoring on the crank (but still in tolerance) The crank shells had been worn down to the copper so will need replacing. Slight scoring on the front cylinder. Possibly from an exuberant owner revving before the engine was warmed up. A couple of the gearbox dogs are showing minor wear on the corners The oil pump doesn’t move as smoothly as it should. think that was about it. A nice little lockdown project for someone. Obviously it would be collection only due to the weight. Collection from Leeds, social distancing and all that jazz. £500 for the lot (complete engine with all internals, all cases and starter motor. No clutch)
