2012 848evo

  1. Looks like I'm going to be offloading my 848 fairly soon. Any idea what I should be looking at price wise for it? It's the white evo with red wheels, 12 plate, 8k on the clock atm, will have had the 7500 service done next week. It does have a couple of noticeable pretty deep scratches on the tail from my boots :( Few other marks, general wear and tear stuff. Unsure if I'm going to hack it in (though not convinced they will want it) or try and sell privately atm. Just trying to get a figure, been looking online and prices are pretty variable.

Thinking possibly £8k private, £6.5k dealer or maybe less?

*Edit* Chances are I may well get the tail resprayed before I sell, probably make life easier

  2. 8-8.5k private, 6-6.5k trade(possibly less as its non se). Mind you, being a 2012 its pretty high on the miles for the year. Well that's what they'll say anyway.

Buy my carbon tail, that'll get rid of the scratches:wink:

  3. Hmm, that's what I figured. Guess it'll depend on how quickly I need to get it shifted I guess.

Think your carbon tail may be a little pricey to just pop on the bike to sell too :p Just had a clutch slave put on as well as a fair few other bits, which is kinda annoying :( Wasn't planning to offload for a while but circumstances changed quite a bit recently. Hey ho.

  4. Nothing bad I hope. If you want to offload really quick try 'we buy any bike'. Take all your bits off and put back to standard. Most stuff adds little value anyway.

  5. Nah, nothing bad at all :) Little bit of good fortune so I have been mulling over a bike change, which wouldn't have been possible for a year or 2 until a week or so ago. I just need to move my current bike before I can look at another as I just don't have to space for 2 where I am at the moment.

Probably look at trying to sell as a private sale I think and then hope one of the 2 bikes I'm looking at are still there....or if it gets too close to winter then wait till March time and see what pops up next year.....if I can go that long without a bike :/

  6. Moved to Superbike

  7. Well, found out yesterday...£6.5k, or would have been £6750 if I'd gone in against a used bike. Apparently expected mileage for a bike of that age is 2k, so only 4 times over that :/

Would have maybe gone private had I had the time to sell it, but I wasn't expecting more than £7.5 anyway and it wasn't absolutely pristine, mostly a couple of heavy scratches from my boots on the tail. I think that alone may have given me some trouble trying to sell. Swapped the boots out for a pair of supertechs so I'm hoping that'll cure that problem!
