2012 1200S Multistrada - Still having trouble with HF. This time when I brought it out after the winter I can't get the switch to work. The red button on the switch does not respond as it should. I can punch in my code and everything comes alive and I can ride with the ' missing key' message. I thought the switch may have something to do with it so I opened it up. The white/black wire is flattened for about 6mm on the wire and there is a bit of bare wire on the black wire. Since it starts with the code I think either the HFCU has quit or the immobilizer.When the switch red button is pushed down it should send a signal back to the unit to activate the relay I think. Trying to follow the path to confirm the switch or the HFCU. The schematic I have does not match the wiring at the switch. Any ideas?
Do check that a) the key fob is in range (I forgot, left mine on a far away table, and dismantled the entire switch until I realised!) B) that the fob battery is OK. Before you look at the switch, which does cause issues.
