  1. Hi
A couple of months ago, I took my bike back to the dealer for the valve adjustment service. When the bike came back, on the second ride out, it leaked fuel all over the back wheel. To their credit, the dealer took it back and replaced the fuel hose clips, 'o' rings and the heatshield covering the fuel pump, all of which were disturbed during the service.
I took the bike out for the first time since getting it back and from cold with full choke, I was only getting about 1500 rpm, whereas before it was always +2000. I am reluctant to take it back again so has anybody done any adjustments to the choke to get me back to higher cold start rpm?

  2. The "choke" is in fact a fast idle lever. All it does is raised the tickover to enable the engine to run on a closed throttle until it has warmed up. The necessary mixture adjustment is done by the ECU using values from the air and engine temperature sensors.
As part of the valve adjustment the throttle bodies may have been removed to improve access. When refitting it's possible that the fast idle cable has been adjusted differently giving less revs available.
As long as the bike is starting easily and idling reliably I wouldn't worry about it.
