Tired trawling the forums, unsuccessfully, to find the right exhaust eliminator for this bike. I have recently had an EML come on and Ducati Stoke have said this is the exhaust valve causing it. I have a full Termignoni fitted which obviously has no vale in it. Anyone got a link to the right eliminator for me please? Or point me to a thread?
The full Termignoni system supplied by Ducati new, came with a map which deleted the exhaust valve in the ECU. Ducati Stoke’s diagnosis only makes sense if you don’t have that map installed. Andy
The system was fitted prior to my ownership so I have no idea whether it had a remap. To be fair the light has never come on before and only came on with the fuel sensor warning fault message.
You don't need an eliminator, you need a different dealer. Fuel sender failure is probably THE most common fault on a Multistrada, especially of that age. Simple but expensive fix. Andy
The bike could be tricked into thinking the exhaust valve works with just a couple of springs to give it some resistance. I did that for many years before getting a map that disabled the function. Without the map disabling the function then you would have been able hear the servo try to rotate the valve every time you started the bike, did it/does it make whiring noise coming from near the right footpeg when you turn on the ignition? https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/exhaust-valve-mod-pictures.60912/
This bike has a full Termignoni, the need for an eliminator is a red herring started by Ducati Stoke, who should know better. The issue is more likely associated with the OP statement that the bike has a fuel sender error. Andy
It's still possible although unlikely OP has both issues. It's also possible to buy a Termi on ebay and fit it without having an upmap. Hence checking or remembering if it's made the noise. If it's never made a distinct whiring noise then upmap present and dealer lazy. It's not clear if they resolved or tried to resolve the fuel sensor warning. If they did perhaps they nuked the upmap and now are obscuring that issue further by talking about the exhaust valve rather than address the fuel sender.
