1200 DVT 2015 Multistrada 1200 Fuel Pump Connection

  1. Having just installed a Rapid Bike Evo fuelling module, I started the bike up and the fuel connection is not seating fully in the Fuel Pump housing. I'm trying not to be too heavy handed with it as it seems fragile and probably a rip off to replace. Does anyone have any tips for getting this seated correctly?

  2. Take apart, put some silicon grease on it, put back together with a little jiggle. Might work. X

  3. Already tried this, I've ordered a Moto Guzzi connector and will update when I see how it goes

  4. It’s very easy to bend one or more of the pins unless the connector is lined up perfectly. Pull the plug and have a peek inside the connector.

  5. It looks spot on.

  6. Sorry, I was thinking off the 4 way electrical connector.
The fuel connector is a push in type. It needs to be square as it’s push home. Once in, you won’t be able to pull it out without first depressing the locking ring.

  7. It clicks in place when pushed fully inside but is easily removed. When the bikes started it pisses fuel all over the place.

I have no confidence in this connection now.

    Servus,
I had the same problem. Cheapest solution:
For various Moto Guzzi there is a connector that uses the same ring. Called connection piece fuel pump (Art.Nr.: 01106692) and costs around EUR 8,--.
I ordered 2 pieces (in case one breaks during disassembly) and dismantled the ring. To do this, I cut four narrow strips from a transparent blister pack and slid them under the lugs. Then it was easy to pull off.
Fitted perfectly and saved well over EUR 100.

    Greetings
    Nicholas

Ring and retaining lugs (in the linked picture: gray) form a unit that will break into 2 parts if handled badly ;D.
The line connector, on which also the 2 o-rings for sealing are located, is fixed by the (gray) retaining lugs, so that it can not slip out.
For proper separation, therefore, the connection must also normally be pushed in a little, at the same time the ring pushed slightly (!) upwards and the entire unit (connection and minimally pushed up ring) be pulled out of the fuel pump. To make this easier, always lubricate the connection lightly when reassembling. I have used Vaseline for this purpose.
