  1. Hi All
Have been offered a nice miles, low owner, well looked after 2016 1200 PP at what I believe is a decent price.
Any views on this model and how it compares to others?
Is it that different to the earlier 1200 PP, or would it be worth trying to stretch to a 1260 etc?
    Any views appreciated.

  2. Low miles, decent price? If you don’t someone else will very soon.

The 1260 is slightly longer therefore steadier but slower to turn, has a quickshifter and I’d say that’s about it. A steering damper cures any slight head shake. You’ll need a decent seat and check the static sag is set for you.

Every now and again in life opportunities unfold right in front of you. It’s up to you what you do about them.

  3. I had a 1200DVT from early 2016 and did 46,000 miles on it. A great bike, very rideable and great fun. However, I never thought the engine was as sharp as my previous 2013 Twin Spark. It sometimes had a delay between throttle opening and engine response which was comparable to turbo-lag - not always, just in extremis. I suspect it was caused by a dip in the torque curve.
As from last week I have a 2018 1260. Just a couple of rides so far but they re-enforce the perception I had during a 1260 test ride back in 2018 that the 1260 had an engine response much like my old Twin Spark. In my view, the 1260 has a better engine management system, so for that reason alone I'd say get a 1260 if you can.
