    Loved it!!

As will know from my 1st road test thread, I was a little bit underwhelmed by the multi compared to my now departed Triumph speed triple 1050R.

This one though....wow... I really was impressed on my journey back from the otherside of Burnley to Stourbridge in the West Midlands. I don't think the smile left my face on the almost 3hr trip.

This was on Sunday but if you've read my previous thread regarding the shed I put a deposit on, I had to deal with that 1st.

Long story short is I lost my £500 deposit. But do I care? Not a chance. I picked up this multi 1200s below with panniers and top box in red, my exact spec I wanted for an agreed £7250.

It has done 'cough' 23k.. but is almost like brand new. It has had the desmo service done at 19k by Ducati and another 5 services by Ducati dealers, so its been well treated. There's extra usb sockets as well which look factory as well as the all important carbon termi, plus evotect radiator and oil cooler guards and protective film on the paintwork. Oh and a denali horn??

Everything works as it should but.... the heated grips are not very hot! And I thought the thermostat had gone but I've since found out that the multi's stat is 65 degrees  if im giving some it will rise quickly, the same when in traffic but otherwise in this weather its inbthe low 60's.

One thing ...how do I put the steering lock on?

  2. Steering lock is electronic. Iirc you steer to the left (think it’s only left - it’s one or the other!) and press the ignition button again and hold until you hear it slam the lock in. Again, iirc this needs to be quite soon after the ignition is turned off

    and great choice :upyeah:

  3. Looks great.!! Was that the one I put link on your previous post?
Either way, looks the Muts Nuts!
Pleased to see you enjoyed yourself too. They really are a great bike.
Re lock. When you’ve stopped engine, within 30-60 seconds, move the bars against lock stop either side, then press the lower button on the right side switch gear until you see the dash say steering lock. Hold button and bars in position until you see the locking pin pop out.

  4. Sorry, answer overlap.

  5. I very, very rarely used mine as enough lock and won’t come off to scare me! So I bought one of those disc locks that fits to the caliper instead for when I was out and about

  7. Thanks!
When I press the button with a lock on it (bottom one on right) with the steering turned fully left it just turns the screen off? I get no reaction

  8. You have to let go and then press and hold down again fairly soon after the ignition goes off.

If you don’t do it soon enough the ignition cycles on again, just turn it off and try again

  10. Glad you got the Multistrada that you deserve, it looks the dogs bollox! Don’t be afraid of the mileage, it has been looked after. I wouldn’t give up on your deposit though, check out Citizens Advice or your local Councils Trading Standards Officer, as a rule, dealers don’t like it when Trading Standards are involved.

  11. Really kind, thank you sir :upyeah:

I will have to look into it, I just have so much on at the moment with family life and work that I have had to try and put it behind me so to speak.

  12. Yes. It can be fiddly. Takes some getting used to.

  13. Yes that’s it but press and hold the second time and you should hear the steering lock -
And a message on the dash (not a short press)

  14. Looks great, well done. Shame about the deposit but I think you did the right thing. No harm in giving Trading Standards or CAB an initial call to see if there are any easy options on getting your £500 back.

  17. Good choice
Have you spoken to the dealer to see if they will return the deposit anyway?

  18. Excellent choice of bike, but I think you should post a few more pictures!.........Only joshing :upyeah:
On the deposit issue, you really should go back to the poor original dealership and let them be aware that you intend to get in contact with Trading Standards, as in your opinion, they are likely to have acted improperly.
I think you will receive the right response.:)
