Bike 2nd birthday was in March but has only covered a few hundred miles since (13k now). It's the big one with cam belt and valve clearance. Called Inmoto Croydon just now and was quoted £750 all in, 8 months ago I was quoted £500 by the same dealer for the same service. Obviously the dealer denied the 1st quote by phone , not sure if it's due to more jobs during summer time or not. My "local" MD racing in Walton is cheaper at £650 but they are not dealer, although they claim their service is more comprehensive compared to the dealer. Are these prices competitive for a dealer / specialist? If not, any other alternative/recommendations in the South East? Thanks. It's a Monster 1100 evo btw.
I've heard a lot of really good things about MD Racing in Walton, I'd definately take my bike there rather than Inmoto Croydon. My girlfriend used to take her Monster to MD Racing before it got wrote off (RIP). They have all the computer equipment needed and the owner loves Ducati and racing. I'll certainly be using MD Racing on my other bikes and also on the Panigale if for some reason I have difficulty taking my bike the distance down to Snell Performance.
I've recently had my Hyper in at MD for the 1st time, they did the belts & valve clearances + 1 or 2 other little bits and pieces for me and from my experience would now highly recommend them. They're a very welcoming independent set-up with everything needed to work on & service your Ducati properly. Once you go there you can see Mike obviously cares about his customers plus he charges reasonable prices too
Sounds good - I spoke with Clinton on the phone yesterday and he emphasised in providing a level of service over and above dealer standard, he also said that if valve clearance needs adjusting the adjustment will be included in quoted price (as oppose to some dealers who may apply additional charge).
