300v

  1. Ive read many, many of your recommendations on 300V being the daddy of oils and the fact its a funky dayglow yellow-green I thought I should give it a pop.

It was actually quite a hard decision as I was planning on getting 8L of shell Ultra 4 for the same price as 4l of 300V and doing both my bikes but nope, lets give it a go and find out what the fuss is about.

I did a full oil change including the oil cooler and spent a while in the garage tipping the bike every which way in order to drain it all out of the engine.

As soon as I hit the starter it fired into life and seems to do so instantly. Placebo? Hmm, not sure but it does seem to fire up faster.

So out I went for a ride and WOW. Money well spent.

I honestly hoped it would make a difference but didnt really think that it would. The bike spins up faster, has noticeably more low down grunt and feels much punchier. It feels so much better and responds instantly on the throttle. Massive difference.

I have tried a few oils and always do a full oil change if swapping oils. I found Shell Ultra 4 to be fine but it didnt seem to want to rev and was a bit rough at higher rpm. I have run it on Agip race oil and that was really nice in the upper numbers of the tacho but not so good lower down.

If you are a bit miffed at the prospect of shelling out 50 notes on a tub of oil, do it - its seriously good stuff.

    And it looks cool too.:upyeah:

  2. Hmmmm you know I had my Pani in for its first service at the weekend and it felt so much better on the way home... I know 300v was put in at the service but what came out? Could it be that simple?

  3. Yep.

Clean filters make a big difference but I didnt touch mine and it was a big difference. Much sharper.
