999 37.3 37.5!!!

  1. Hi guys

I have the 37.3 and 37.5 codes on my dash, bike starts, no problem.

so I uploaded a new 57mm termi map to original ecu 5am, via tune ecu, made sure immo was unchecked.

I brought a newer, but used clean dash clocks. And installed them. Does the clocks store any data for keys?

when I turn bike on, I get the key sign flashing, orange light comes on with errors.

you think this will cause me
    Problems in the future

  2. The immo is in two parts. The main info is stored on an eeprom in the dash and includes the transponder codes for the keys. The second part is in the ECU where it is looking for a wake up signal from the dash after the key transponder has been read. This is specific to the coded keys, hence why a second hand ECU will not work on another bike once coded. If you disable immo then the bike will start irrespective of what key is used, the bike will even start with no dash fitted. The dash, however, is still looking for a valid transponder.
Guessing that you are using the original keys, then the second hand dash is looking for the transponders that were originally programmed to it.
If you didn’t get the keys to the dash the transponder information can be read from the dash. The red key and two black keys can then be created to match the dash. Alternatively, the dash can be virginised and programmed to your original keys.
A company like Scorpio Electronics can do the work. https://www.scorpio-electronics.co.uk/
You will continue to get the fault codes on the second hand dash (until you sort the key issue) but the bike will start.
    Hope this makes sense.

  3. Morning Chris

Thank you for the quick and comprehensive answer!!

I have a few questions to add to that!!

1, can I still ride the bike. With the dash showing the errors? Or would this in future cause me probs?

2,Yes I’m using original key to my bike on this different Dash, I only have the one black key for my bike. I think it would be useful if I could get new set of keys coded to the new dash, can this be done?
3, I do have a original termi 57mm ecu 5am, this has no immo information stored apparently, I was too lazy to open the battery box to fit it! Would this be a better ecu to use, than the original remapped via tune ecu?

    Thanks again

  4. 1. You can still ride the bike but you will have the MIL light. However, MILs are an MOT failure.
    2. The data for your key transponders (1 x red, 2 x black) are stored on the dash eeprom and can be read. This involves taking the dash apart. Scorpio Electronics can do this. Once the bin file from the dash is read then the hexadecimal code can be converted to allow the transponders to be programmed on something like a Zedbull. The bypass code for the immo can also be calculated from the red key info. Scorpio Electronics can also clone the original dash info onto a second hand dash or even virginise it. It is not cheap at around £160 per dash. Mark at Scorpio can email the bin file from the dash containing the transponder codes. He just need telling this is what you want.
    3. If the current ECU is correctly mapped then it will be OK. Always handy to have a spare available.

I have the kit to program transponders just need the hex files from the dash. I have assisted others with this process. It gives you all 3 keys and the bypass code as supplied by Ducati.

  5. Chris you know your stuff thanks!!!

i want to go ahead and get 3 keys
Sorted for this bike, you do that? Have u a contact number private inbox me?

  6. @TheJackal went through this process to get the 3 keys and bypass code. He should be able to give you an idea of costs and turnover.
