3d Printer Time Needed...

  1. Does anyone have a 3D printer that could help me out by printing a sample of some extruded track?

I have a drawing good to go, just need to see a real world sample before I send the drawing to the tool maker.

PM me if you can help!

  2. Reading the tolerances their printer works to, I might be better off getting the tooling company to come up with a die instead. It'll probably be cheaper

  3. There are literally 1000's of 3d printers already located here in the uk, all you need to do is send an email in to a few of the main resellers, state that it's a relatively small one off job and ask if they'd put you in touch with a couple of their clients.

The guys selling the systems like to pass stuff on to the buyers as it keeps interest there and helps them prove ROI

  4. how big?

    Full size train track?

  5. It's 33mm along the x, 30mm along the y, 100mm along the z would be perfect.

It will look a little like this...
